My profession means a lot to me. I practice dentistry with the highest degree of ethics and morals because it’s an honor and a privilege to become a dentist and have a patient entrust their care with you. The best difference I can make in a patient’s life is the confidence to smile without shame or fear.
I’m endlessly fascinated about teeth and oral health care, and how that relationship works with the rest of the body. Each day brings something new in dentistry because no two patients are truly the same or have the same needs and desires. A dentist must be a scientist, artist, therapist, educator, and doctor.
I value patients as people first and foremost, because I want to hear about the family vacations, the sports tournaments, the weddings, and grandkids. As a dentist, I have made it a point to be friends with my patients first and their dentist second.
I’m so excited to be a part of the Kearney Dental team! Our team provides a personalized look into your oral health and provides compassionate and quality care. We view the practice of dentistry as a judgement free zone where the patient talks and the dentist listens to their wants, needs, and desires. We practice dentistry the way it should be practiced!
Commitment to Education
Having a doctor that is up-to-date on the latest evidence based dentistry as well as the latest trends and research helps ensure quality comprehensive care. I choose to participate in continuing education because dentistry is a constant learning experience, and I look to provide the highest quality of dental care for my patients, greater diagnostic and clinical abilities, and a better overall patient experience.
In addition to attending lectures, conferences, and hands-on-education, I have also participated in:
- Midwest Dental Conference
- University of Missouri-Kansas City Implant Seminar
- American Dental Association
- Kansas Dental Association
- Fifth District Dental Society
- Academy of General Dentistry
- Missouri Dental Association
Family and Community
I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and recently moved to Mission. I love my family and stay as close with them as possible. I have six siblings who live in Kansas and Colorado. My older sister just had a baby in September and she’s a sweet little angel. My parents live in Kansas City. My brother graduated from KU last May, and he and his girlfriend plan to move to Thailand this November. My little sister is a senior in high school and looking at colleges this year!
When I’m not working, I like to be outdoors, walking, hiking, and staying active. I enjoy working out, reading, playing acoustic guitar, sporting events especially Kansas City sports, and volunteering in the community.
Service and giving back to the community is important because it shows commitment and passion to better the area in which you live in ways that extend beyond personal gain. I have been active in MOMOM (Missouri Mission of Mercy) non-profit dental care, and I have provided free dental services while on a dental mission trip to Jamaica. It brings me a lot of personal satisfaction to know that I can use my dental knowledge and skill to help people, both in and out of the office.
